Job Title: Campaign Intern - Media Focus

Reports To: Deputy Campaign Manager

Compensation: $1000 monthly stipend, 10-15 hours a week

Start Date: Rolling basis, as needed

Position Type: Part-time, through November 2026

Location: In-person only — based in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District. Interns are expected to work on-site at campaign headquarters and attend in-district events. Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Interns will receive hands-on learning in campaign operations, field organizing, and community engagement, while contributing to the campaign’s media presence with their own creativity.

The internship start date is offered on a rolling basis, and the position runs part-time through November 2026 or until academic or personal availability changes. The internship is voluntary and may be ended at any time by either the intern or the campaign.

If an intern wishes to receive academic credit, the campaign will cooperate with their school to complete required paperwork or evaluations.

About the Campaign

We are building a people-powered campaign to elect Rear Admiral (Ret.) Eileen Laubacher to Congress and flip Colorado’s 4th Congressional District. Eileen is a national security leader, mom of five, and lifelong public servant who believes in service over partisanship and delivering real results for Colorado families. This is one of the top fundraising House races in the country — and we’re looking for motivated interns to help power this effort.

Position Overview

Campaign Interns play a hands-on role in supporting the day-to-day work of the campaign — from field organizing and event staffing to communications and operations. This is an opportunity to learn how a congressional campaign runs while making a direct impact in communities across the district.

Interns with a Media Focus will take the lead in documenting and sharing the campaign’s story. This includes creating engaging content for social media, capturing day-to-day campaign moments, and producing photo and video coverage of events. The role is ideal for someone interested in digital storytelling, political communications, and real-time content creation.

Responsibilities

Media & Content Creation (Primary Focus)

  • Capture photo and video content of campaign activities, events, and behind-the-scenes moments

  • Create and edit short-form video content (e.g., reels, TikToks, highlights) for social media platforms

  • Suggest social media posts across campaign channels, and assist in their execution

  • Help maintain an organized digital archive of photos, videos, and campaign content

  • Identify compelling moments and stories that showcase the candidate and campaign message

Events & Field Coverage

  • Attend and document campaign events, town halls, meet-and-greets, and community gatherings

  • Assist with event setup, check-in, and materials distribution as needed

  • Provide real-time social media coverage during events (live posts, stories, quick-turnaround content)

Research & Communications Support

  • Conduct light research on local issues, stakeholders, and community concerns

  • Assist with drafting captions, newsletters, or basic campaign communications as needed

  • Monitor local news and identify relevant content opportunities

  • Create and maintain a database of the news & radio stations, publications, local creators, and other media outlets across the district.

Campaign Operations Support

  • Assist with data entry, office organization, and campaign logistics as needed

  • Help manage volunteer sign-ups and communication with team members

  • Support staff in tracking tasks, priorities, and daily operations

Qualifications

  • Interest in public service, politics, communications, digital media, or community organizing

  • Strong communication, organizational, and storytelling skills

  • Experience creating content for social media (photo, video, or graphics)

  • Good judgment and professionalism in managing and posting on social media platforms

  • Comfortable capturing content in dynamic, fast-paced environments, including live events

  • Ability to interact professionally with voters, volunteers, and campaign staff

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and major social media platforms; experience with Canva, video editing apps, or photography tools is a plus

  • Must be available to work in-person in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, and travel to campaign events (reliable transportation required)

  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends based on campaign needs

  • No prior campaign experience required — just a strong work ethic, creativity, and eagerness to learn
